I got started wearing TriEye cycling glasses several years ago. Wore them off and on until they introduced the larger mirrors for the Originals. That made all the difference and I started wearing them all the time. After tuning the mirror adjustment the visibility, safety and stability of their use is game changing. I’ve adopted them for every ride just like the helmet, radar and flashing lights. Also fantastic for group rides to check on the people following your wheel.
Now I’m getting to know the latest version, The View. The new mirror design and size is different from earlier versions. It provides all the advantages of the larger mirror but seems even easier to get adjusted to a full view rearward. I was a bit concerned having a narrow face that they were only offered in the 145mm size. (I’ve been wearing the Originals in 140mm.) But there were no issues at all the new lens design gives more coverage too which I like.
I’ve been riding for over 40 years and understand all the unwritten (and written) “style laws” and stigmas with the old mirror setups. Don’t deny the comfort and security of having unhindered views of what’s coming up behind you. There’s no reason with modern technology to not wear a helmet, put flashing lights on your bike, buy radar and certainly wear a pair of TriEye cycling glasses.
