TriEye Nose Pad Replacement — Step by Step

The nose pad on The View sits in the cut-out at the nose bridge of the lens. Swapping it takes under a minute, needs no tools, and the lens stays in the frame. The same move fits the Prescription Insert, which comes mounted on its own nose pad. The video at the bottom shows the whole thing.

Before you start

  1. Wash and dry your hands. Lay a soft microfiber cloth on the table so the lens does not get scratched.

  2. Leave the lens in the frame. You do everything from the inside of the glasses.

  3. Fitting the Prescription Insert? It arrives on its own nose pad, so you swap the standard pad for the insert's pad in one go.

Remove the old nose pad

  1. Turn the glasses so the inside faces you and hold the lens by its edges with one hand.

  2. Put your thumb on the top of the nose pad, from the inside, and push it down and out through the bottom of the cut-out. The upper clip lets go first.

  3. Let the pad slide out downwards. It comes free without force. Never pull it forwards through the lens.

Fit the new nose pad

  1. Hold the new pad (or the insert with its pad) with the soft wings towards you, so they end up on the inside of the glasses.

  2. Guide the pad up into the cut-out from below, with the clips against the lens edge.

  3. Press it with your thumb from the inside until it clicks and sits flush at the top of the cut-out.

  4. Run a fingertip along both sides: the pad should sit even and symmetrical, with no gap between pad and lens.

Finish up

  1. Turn the glasses round and put them on. The pad rests evenly on both sides of your nose; with the insert, the prescription lenses sit just in front of your eyes.

  2. Taking the insert out again later is the same move: push the pad down and out from the inside, then click the standard pad back in.

  3. Clean with a microfiber cloth and you are done.

Quick tips & cautions

  • Hands only. Tools will mark the lens.

  • Do not bend the clips open. They flex just enough to snap on and off.

  • A worn or sweaty nose pad is the usual reason The View starts to slide. A fresh pad fixes that.

  • The Prescription Insert must match your frame size (S·140 or M·145).

  • Spare nose pads come in the frame colours. Order a nose pad · Prescription Insert · Lens guide. Not sure which View you have? See the View generations.
